When Camille’s husband dies, she finds herself drawn to a librarian called Delphine, his first wife. Camille and Delphine develop a long-distance relationship that results in a slow build up to kinky, BDSM, queer sex.

This 2017 film takes its time to tell the story of these two lovers. It uses the exchange of letters and photos as a way of building up the relationship between the two women. At last they agree to meet. Their mutual desire for kink leads to intense eroticism which, though not explicit, is still very charged and arousing.

Director Jim Vendiola told Film Shortage: “The film is a revisionist throwback to vintage erotica that favors empathy over objectification, and stylistic purpose over the male gaze. Too often I find popular media’s depictions of BDSM a bit nefarious, coercive, sex-negative, or otherwise puritanical. Instead, I invite viewers to ponder the characters’ sensual, and consensual, interplay of fantasy vs. reality.”

This film received an Honorable Best Mention at Cinekink NY festival in 2018.
